What is Share1Thing?

What if you could share one thought with the world? What piece of advice would you give to the people alive today and future generations to come? What is the one important thing that everybody should know? Would it be about politics? Religion? Finances? Relationships? Social consciousness?

This is your chance to share one thing to make the world a better place. You record a message, we’ll put it in a podcast and each week we’ll release one episode so everybody can benefit from your wisdom. Make it good, this is your legacy, your chance to teach and enlighten, your chance to Share1Thing.

Welcome to my idea…

For a couple years now, I’ve been a bit obsessed with figuring out what I want my legacy to my kids to be. I don’t need to build them a huge monument or leave them a ton of money, but I do want to leave them something.

I consider my own father to be one of the greatest men to ever walk the planet. He always made me feel loved, and everything and everyone that came into his sphere of influence left in better shape than they started. He is a man of few words, but he has always been willing to listen and the wisdom he has shared has stayed with me.

Thinking about Dad got me to thinking, obviously I don’t know everything, but I know some things that are timeless and that I want to be sure I pass on to my son. I’m willing to bet most people have some basic truths like this to pass on to future generations as well.

I’m inviting you to Share1Thing with the world. What knowledge do you have that everybody can benefit from?

  1. Record yourself or call a message into our voicemail line sharing 1 thing that you think is valuable for everybody to know. If you record a file, Email it to me at Share1Thing@gmail.com.
  2. Include your full name in the message and state that you understand that your audio statement could be used in a broadcast and that you give your full permission for me to do so.
  3. Get someone else to do it. We all know someone we would respect to give good advice, and I want as many differing ideas as possible. Consider linking this site on your town’s Craigslist page under Community Activities or on whatever message boards you visit regularly. Talking someone else into submitting will help keep this project alive!
